"Premier Sports Academy is doing a phenomenal job not only developing homegrown talent but also exposing players to a level of baseball outside of Newfoundland when the right opportunity presents itself.
No longer do players in that area need to leave home on a full-time basis to reach their baseball dreams.
The Ontario Blue Jays are appreciative of the relationship we have built and we look forward to hosting many more players and even coaches at our events moving forward".
"Like many before me, training full-time on the island was not a viable option when it came to honing your craft or getting the exposure and opportunities necessary to receive a college scholarship.
"Through Covid and beyond, Premier Sports Academy was vital in assisting me and other Newfoundlander's with the resources to maintain our skills in order to stay in college shape during the offseason.
Since that time, the coaches and resources at Premier Sports have grown; their commitment and ability to develop athletes is evident in the recent successes of their alumni at the National and Collegiate level. Thanks to Premier Sports, it is safe to say that moving out of province to pursue college baseball is no longer a necessity, as they have paved a new way for baseball in Newfoundland and Atlantic Canada.
As my college playing career comes to a close, I couldn't be more excited to move on to this next chapter in baseball as a coach at PSA. I eagerly look forward to dedicating my time and effort, and to giveback what I have learned to players on the island, so that they too can succeed locally, Nationally, and Collegiately".
"I am Super proud of all of the athletes at PSA, especially my guy Kody!
Premier Sports Academy is top notch!
These athletes have received outstanding training and development from experienced instructors and coaches.
I can't say enough about Ryan and all his staff at PSA, they have great passion and knowledge for the game. They really have created something special.
This program is about developing athletes, not just as baseball players but people as well.
I know Kody will be forever grateful for the experience he has had the last several years training at PSA".
“Living in Corner Brook, NL, training and being seen as an elite baseball player is tough. At 16-years-old, leaving home to train was my only option.
After graduation and completing my first off-season at PSA, looking back, I’ve realized that if Premier Sports Academy was around at that time my family would have saved a lot of money, and I wouldn’t have had to leave home as early.
I would have had Coaches who had my best interest in mind and would have gotten me to the next level when the time was right; not to mention the great coaching too!”
"I’ve been in constant communication with Ryan and his staff this past year (21-22) as Jay Miller trained to make his mark as an elite pitcher down here in North Carolina.
Through the years I’ve seen all the gadgets and metrics used to help enhance the performance of kids like Jay, but 80% of the time coaches have no idea how to truly leverage that technology and information.
The PSA staff know their stuff as well as anybody I’ve worked with down here. They have the expertise and knowledge to ensure each athlete is afforded the opportunity to reach his or her absolute peak, while all the time monitoring progress; but more importantly, keeping their eye on each athlete’s health through arm care and maintenance.
I’m not suggesting Ryan and his staff at Premier Sports Academy will make D1 players out of all their students, but I’m pretty sure there’s no better place in Atlantic Canada that can give them a chance to recognize their full potential.
PSA is truly a gem for Newfoundland.
Stay Healthy! Stay Hungry! Stay Humble!"
"Premier Sports is one of the top training facilities in the Atlantic, and isn’t going to stop pumping out athletic, strong, and mentally prepared athletes anytime soon!
Ryan and his staff do an incredible job of identifying what makes the athlete great, what is setting them back, and the development plan for each player is tailored to their specific needs.
Places like PSA are what we look for when we recruit players; they have what I consider to be an incredible and trustworthy product.
If you live in Atlantic Canada this is one place you need to be training at!
I’m super excited for Canes Canada to have a long-lasting and successful relationship with Premier Sports!"
"As one of the many athletes that had to leave this province in high school to earn a collegiate scholarship, seeing the success that PSA has had so far is amazing.
It is an incredible facility with even better coaches, who are hungry to continue to grow and get the absolute most out of the athletes in our province.
I cant thank the PSA team enough for not only helping me stay at the top of my game while I’m home, but also for promoting the great athletes that this province has to offer.
Our kids deserve to be seen!"
"While living in Newfoundland, I spent four years playing with Team NL. During this time, there was nowhere to train during the winter months besides high school gyms.
Wanting to pursue baseball further, I had to move to Alberta to train with the Okotoks Dawgs Academy. After completing high school in Okotoks, I accepted a scholarship to play for Garden City Community College in Kansas, NJCAA D1.
If PSA had been around during that time, it would’ve given me a better opportunity to continue working during the off season, and further develop myself as a baseball player.
Since returning home, I’ve been able to utilize the facilities at PSA, and they’re incredible!
PSA has extremely knowledgeable coaches, and the growth of baseball since their arrival has increased the success of athletes in Newfoundland. Baseball in this province is headed in the right direction, and the staff at PSA have opened a lot of doors for our athletes locally".
"It’s hard to put into words how much PSA means to not only me, but to the baseball culture in Newfoundland.
They have made incredible strides to put young Newfoundland players on the map, which is something that many have been unable to do. The coaching staff is very knowledgeable and training there while home has helped me with my own craft exponentially.
I’ve always been tremendously proud to be a born and raised Newfoundlander, and it’s so exciting to see the culture change in the right direction.
If you're serious about baseball, PSA is the place to be!"
"Growing up in Newfoundland, I spent several years competing at the Provincial, Atlantic, and National level. Eventually came a time I had to make the decision to leave home to join the Okotoks Dawgs academy in Alberta to further my baseball career.
I remained in Okotoks for 3 years before eventually accepting a scholarship to play for Colby Community College in Kansas, NJCAA D1. After my time with Colby, I accepted a scholarship to Minot State, NCAA D2, which was cut short due to the pandemic.
With Premier Sports being a standout facility in our province, it was a no brainer for me to join the staff and share my knowledge and journey to help the next generation of kids chase the dream like I once did.
Before starting with PSA, I was able to get to know the staff well while I was training there; I could tell they wanted the best for everyone who comes through the doors. The facility is top notch, and I wish it was there when I was younger.
I’m really looking forward to see what the future holds for the kids in Newfoundland who train at PSA!"
"Premier Sports Academy has been an invaluable resource for our son, Kieran and other aspiring athletes, allowing them to continue training close to home. Before PSA opened, I had expressed an interest in the facility. Ryan promptly reached out to answer any questions, demonstrating the academy’s commitment to supporting athletes and their families.
We are incredibly fortunate to have such a top-notch facility in Paradise and in the province. With a son deeply passionate about baseball from a young age, the skilled and knowledgeable coaches at PSA have been instrumental in guiding both Kieran and us through the journey of achieving his athletic goals. He has been a member since Day 1 and will always be a part of the PSA family.
The combination of excellent equipment, a well-maintained facility, and dedicated owners and coaches ensures that baseball players in our province are recognized and supported. Ryan, Noah, Leon, all the other coaches and trainers have played a crucial role in preparing Kieran for the next level of baseball.
PSA is truly a game-changer for baseball in Newfoundland and Labrador!"
